Either independently or in partnership with local communities, civil society organisations, government, private sector, research institutions, funding agencies, and other individuals, Living Landscapes works towards the ecological health of rural landscapes, watersheds, forests, land and aquatic resources, effective climate action, and advancement of good governance.
By creating and enabling the set-up of openly accessible infrastructure (including digital products like maps, platforms, analytical tools, indices as well as non-digital products like, information sharing channels, sourcebooks, social and institutional models, frameworks etc.), Living Landscapes helps accelerate and increase the effectiveness of ecosystem-wide action through innovation and communities of practice at local to global levels.
Living Landscapes fosters synergy and enables complementarity between diverse groups of actors and initiatives from local communities, government, civil society, and businesses to address intersectional issues, amplify impact, and expand networks of mutual support and learning and adaptation.
Living Landscapes brings together expertise and investments from civil society, government, business, and philanthropy to strengthen system-wide capacity to engage on public interest issues related to ecological health, effective climate action, advancement of good governance, and poverty alleviation, at scale.
Living Landscapes supports or undertakes studies, fellowships, scholarships, workshops, conferences and training programmes that engage with deep-rooted issues affecting the wellbeing of nature and the poor, build evidence on critical barriers, promising innovations and practices, foster exchange of knowledge, and enhance public awareness.
